Its seems mother nature is toying with us. More so than normal. Our Outpost has seen huge variations in weather the last 8 weeks. From beautiful, unusually warm winter weather, to unpredicted snow storms...deep freezes (two to be precise). . .and early Spring Thunderstorms and Tornado warnings. We go from playing in the park to bundling ourselves up in layers in order to walk from the bedroom to the fridge. Everyone has said it, and I'll say it again...Spring can't come soon enough! The daffodils agree. They're so desperate for sunshine they're poking through the freezing ground in order to get a view of the sun. Way too early for them yet, but they also have cabin fever, apparently.
This past weekend we had that beautiful warm weather. Chloe LOVES the outdoors so we spent the entire weekend breathing in fresh air. We basked in the warm sunshine like lizards. We lay in the grass. We played at the park. We ran through the garden...We got a taste of the months ahead.
I didn't get a chance to post our snow pictures from a few weeks back. We had a good amount of snow - 8 inches to be exact. Practically unheard of in the deep South. And this is what we did...
Our little artist. Seems she's settled on being left handed.
My brother built a snow ramp in our backyard...and it made for some awesome entertainment! The neighborhood kids joined in too - within no time our backyard turned in to the neighborhood sled run.
Snow is gone now, cold remains. It's supposed to be a warm weekend...the lizards will be back out.
