It seems after Christmas the winter season drags on and on and on. . .you wake up each morning hoping the second you whip open the blinds the cold winter world would have changed overnight into a green, warm, sunny world where the birds are active again. But for the last 2 weeks or so it feels as though we are stuck in this arctic freeze. We're teased with a warm-ish day, then BOOM - the next 7 days are back to subzero temps! So this is where we are - freezing and doing our best to combat cabin fever. Being indoors has a benefit - baking. I'm don't claim to be a brilliant baker by any means. I always only use recipes that call for minimal ingredients - and even few steps to complete. So in my search for easy deliciousness I came across a recipe I had to share. Super easy, super delicious - especially just out the oven...
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Wraps
Ingredients:
▪
8 ounces cream cheese (one package) softened a
little
▪
1 cup white granulated sugar
▪
1/4 cup butter, melted
▪
1/4 cup white granulated sugar
▪
1 teaspoon cinnamon (I used Vietnamese cinnamon)
▪
2 tubes crescent rolls
Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 350f.
2.In a medium bowl combine cream cheese and 1 cup of granulated sugar, blend and set aside
3.In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and
cinnamon, pour onto small plate, set
aside.
4.Melt butter in a small-ish bowl, set aside.
5.Separate each crescent roll and place about one tablespoon cream
cheese filling on one end and roll it up. Carefully dip wrap in butter and
roll in cinnamon mixture on the plate. Repeat. Place on an ungreased cookie
sheet, and bake until golden brown
And the RESULT. . .
. . .can be enjoyed with a nice cuppa on a cold winter's day.
Enjoy!
