Week 21

How the belly looks from my vantage point
21 weeks 6 days |
Chloe, the Olympic swimmer, has decided to spend week 21 of her existence resting and recuperating. She is no longer swimming against my movements, nor kicking like a wild girl. Instead she will give you a little kick of recognition if you poke her, but for the most part she is just chilling, spending 12 to 14 hours a day sleeping, says the prego book.
Chloe now has functioning taste buds which means she also gets a taste of everything I eat. We’ve both been enjoying a variety of foods this week, but especially granny smith apples. Her growth from the length of a banana to the length of a carrot is registering on the scale, in a 3 lb kinda way. Perhaps I ate too many granny smiths? Chocolate is still a very large weakness although I’m not giving in still – in fact remember that small bag of rolo’s Jon bought me a couple of weeks ago? Yip, they’re still in existence. Score!
Good news – at 10pm last night we (meaning Jon) finished painting the baby’s room! Next is buying the crib and dresser drawers…we desperately need the draws as my parents kindly bought Chloe’s entire wardrobe for her first 6 months! …I know! I’m in the process of washing, ironing and storing all her new clothing items. She has quite the collection J The little ruffled bloomers that I bought on etsy the other day arrived in the mail this week, too. Oh my goodness…you have never seen anything as cute as those…they are TINY with a big, CUTE chiffon booty J She’ll be sporting these bloomers in her newborn pictures.
In all, week 21 was a good one. I’m starting to gear up for our trip in 2 weeks’ time – a bikini no longer looks the same on this bod…in fact it doesn’t even look like the same body OR bikini for that matter. I find you have to have a sense of humor when trying on bikini’s at 21/22 weeks pregnant. As I end this post, Chloe has woken from her beauty sleep - she's sending love nudges your way xoxo
See you next week. . .
